Neil Challis

Company Director, Co-Founder & CQC Registered Manager

Diploma level 5 in Health and Social Care

Currently Co-founder & Registered Manager at Mindful Care and Support. What an amazing journey, from an idea born on a squash court 4/5 years ago, after a number of years in the world of Adult Social Care, both in the public and private sector. The idea then turned into reality in 2018. It has been incredibly rewarding to build a strong team around the company and provide such a great service for some of our most vulnerable adults in and around the Hampshire area. Mindful Care continues to grow as a home care provider, creating wonderful opportunities and memories. So proud of everyone that has made this all possible.

 Georgia Clark

Coordinator

Completing Diploma level 4 in Health and Social Care

Georgia manages our relationships with commissioners, coordinates the rota for domiciliary care in Hampshire, as well as for the Rapid Discharge Service from hospital, an exciting challenge that involves fast assessment and support for individuals coming out of hospital, medically fit but in need of care and reablement. Mindful Care and Support delivers up to 200 hours a week through this short-term acute service at home.

"I finally discovered passion for work when I started a career at Mindful Care and Support.  The most fulfilling aspect is that we provide the highest quality of care, whilst encouraging our supported individuals to maintain their independence."

 Mitch Barton

Team Leader

Mitch has been working in the care sector for 6 years now and has had a variety of roles from frontline care worker to recruitment officer. Mitch is currently a Team Leader at Mindful Care and Support with the ambition to go to the top. “It’s lovely to support individuals and help them gain independence & confidence to remain in their own home. Being a Male Carer in a Female dominated profession can be a challenge, however it is always worth it. Constantly hearing from clients ‘you remind me of my grandson, never seems to get old either!"

 Tracey Huckle

Team Leader

I have worked within the care industry for 27 years, mainly with children and adults with special needs, as well as the elderly.  It is a very rewarding role, particularly working for a company that promotes independence and self-worth for our clients. As a team we all work very well together, bringing our different strengths to the table. As we expand as a company, we can continue to deliver outstanding care to our community and further afield.

Vickie Jones

Team Leader

Hi I’m Vickie! I have worked for Mindful Care and Support for over a year and I love my job. Every day is different and you can learn so much from other people and about their lives and experiences. To put a smile on someone’s face. To help comfort them, to reassure them. To empower them to live their best life through care and support at home.... it’s the best feeling ever x

Staff reporting & accountability

Our team records all details of visits on Careline Live. The care teams have weekly meetings, sharing an open culture that always welcomes constructive feedback, for review and potential action to continually improve our service delivery.

It is vital for staff to feel involved as domiciliary care can sometimes feel lonely. We have a WhatsApp Group used by care technicians throughout the day to exchange important updates or simply just feel connected.

 Training & personal development

Mindful Care and Support believes that continuous improvement of its services is dependent upon the on-going development of the workforce skills. All staff receive initial training in their roles to ensure that the key standards of competence are met and exceeded with an additional 3 days per year for ongoing development.
Our team is enabled to participate in the identification and dissemination of best practice at work. Accordingly, staff are encouraged and motivated to develop interests in a specific skill area, to be appointed and recognised as 'Specialist' in that area.
All care staff are required to pass the Care Certificate before probation end with MCS, through the provider Care skills academy.
For further levels of care qualifications, MCS use recognised training providers. As part of the MCS induction, care staff undergo specific mandatory training as legally required in:
